Exterior painting

Exterior painting built for Colorado weather

High-altitude sun, hail, dry air, and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on paint. We prep and paint your home's exterior so it holds color and keeps out moisture for years, not just a season or two.

Our exterior process

  • Washing siding and trim to remove dirt, chalking, and mildew
  • Scraping and sanding loose or peeling paint down to a sound surface
  • Replacing failed caulk around windows, doors, and trim joints
  • Spot-priming bare wood and repairs so the topcoat bonds
  • Protecting plants, walkways, windows, and fixtures before spraying or rolling
  • Premium exterior topcoats applied at the right film thickness, then a final walkthrough

Timing your exterior project

Exterior paint needs the right temperature and dry weather to cure. In Northern Colorado that usually means late spring through early fall, and good contractors book up early. If you're thinking about a summer repaint, getting an estimate on the calendar in winter or early spring gives you the best choice of dates.

Common questions

How often should a Colorado home's exterior be repainted?

It depends on sun exposure, siding type, and the last paint job, but many homes here need attention every 7 to 10 years, and south- and west-facing walls often wear first. Peeling, chalky paint, and cracked caulk are signs it's time.

Can you paint in cold weather?

Most exterior paints need surface and air temperatures above about 35 to 50 degrees, depending on the product, plus dry conditions while they cure. We schedule around the forecast so the paint cures properly.

Do you pressure wash first?

Yes. Every exterior starts with cleaning so the new paint bonds to a clean surface instead of dirt and chalk.

Can you work with my HOA's color requirements?

Yes. If your HOA has approved colors or needs a submission, we'll work from their list and help you get the details they ask for.
